Journal

Insomniac's Journal

Words birthed in the internal

His subconscious' dunk-tank

These words remained unranked

Articulate the contemplations

Of these waking frustrations

Pen in hand

Sleep be damned

These are the greatest thoughts in the land

But why do they come at 4 in the morning

Must write them down

And heed the warning

His memory won't serve him as well when he wakes

If only he knew what was at stake

Words, Words, and more still left to come

Cannot stop till he sees the sun

Sunken eyes

Blood shot red

Sleep finally comes to the walking dead

Overkill

This is not a poem
This is not a love song
This is the product of imagination gone wrong

You are not a person
Or a place or thing
You are inexplicably unexplainable
The shadow of a bad dream

You do not breath air
Or walk upon the earth
You do think thoughts
Have value or worth

You do not exist
Do not argue that fact
You are invisible mist
You are trapped

Comfortable Night

We found a place
Where we were hugged by the forest
Cozy little trees
That loved and adored us
Mischief and misdirection
Led us to this place
Nightmares at our back
Cause to quicken pace

Forever running scared
Tired and forgotten
Our lives spent and wasted
Our reputations rotten
No place left to hide
But, yet here we are
Hidden and concealed
Staring at the stars

The Lucky Few

The most
The best
Brighter than the rest
Great expectations
Burdened with the stress

Glorified and praised
Revered and raised
Above all others
Presented and displayed

Cracked and broken
The privileged token
Too good to be true
The price to be paid is now due

Positioned for demise
Souls screaming through the eyes
Gives rise to troubled thoughts
Advised against by the wise

Pay attention to their misery
They're all ticking time bombs
Take their threats seriously
Before they are all long gone

Today

Seems like just yesterday
I kissed the sky to fade away
Oblivious monotony
I miss the way we used to be

Forever makes me feel ok
My secrets never been betrayed
My heart is fried
My edges frayed
My tale to be played out on stage

I fell into the deepest sky
The bluest sea
And opened eyes
Greenest grass
And warmest hay
It all seems like just yesterday
